Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe and Transfer to Hotel
Your 10 Days Uganda Primates and Game Safari begins as you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you will be welcomed by a representative from Giant Holiday Safaris. The city of Entebbe, located on the shores of Lake Victoria, offers a peaceful introduction to Uganda. Your guide will escort you to your hotel, where you will relax and refresh after your international flight.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up for the transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, which is about a 5-6 hour drive from Entebbe. The drive takes you through beautiful rural landscapes, passing by traditional Ugandan villages, cultivated farmlands, and scenic vistas. As you approach the park, you’ll begin to see the rugged beauty of Murchison Falls, where the Nile River plunges through a narrow gorge.
Upon arrival at the park, check into your lodge, relax, and enjoy the views of the surrounding wilderness. If time permits, you may take a short evening game drive or simply enjoy the serenity of the park.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise at Murchison Falls
After an early breakfast, embark on a morning game drive through Murchison Falls National Park. The park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, lions, buffaloes, and numerous antelope species. Your experienced guide will help you spot the animals and provide insightful information on their behavior and habitat. The park’s varied landscapes, from savannah to woodland, create perfect conditions for wildlife viewing.
In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile River, which offers fantastic wildlife sightings. You’ll get close up views of hippos, crocodiles, and a wide array of bird species, including pelicans, egrets, and kingfishers. The highlight of the boat trip is when you approach Murchison Falls itself where the Nile River dramatically squeezes through a narrow gorge, creating a thunderous waterfall. Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park and Bigodi Walk
After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls and begin your transfer to Kibale National Park, a 6-7 hour drive that will take you through the lush countryside and bustling towns. Kibale is one of Uganda’s most famous primate reserves, home to a wide variety of primates, including chimpanzees.
Upon arrival in Kibale, you’ll check into your lodge before heading out for a walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. This area is known for its rich biodiversity, including rare birds, monkeys, and various plant species. The walk is an excellent opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the park and spot some of its wildlife.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on your chimpanzee trekking adventure. Kibale is home to over 1,500 chimpanzees, and this trekking experience offers the rare chance to observe these fascinating primates in the wild. The trek can last from 1 to 4 hours depending on the location of the chimpanzees. Once you locate them, you’ll spend an hour observing their behavior and interactions in their natural habitat.
In the afternoon, after your chimpanzee trek, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is about a 3-4 hour drive. Upon arrival, check into your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner as you prepare for the following day’s adventure.
Day 6: Morning Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park and Boat Ride on Kazinga Channel
After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is known for its diverse ecosystems and wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, and various antelope species. The drive will take you through the park’s open savannah and lush forests, providing excellent opportunities for wildlife sightings and photography.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. The channel is teeming with wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birds. Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The drive takes approximately 4-5 hours, and you will pass through scenic landscapes, including the famous rolling hills of southwestern Uganda. The dense forests of Bwindi mark the entrance to the park, which is home to the world’s most famous primates the mountain gorillas.
Upon arrival in Bwindi, check into your lodge, which is nestled within the forest or near the park entrance. Relax and unwind as you prepare for the thrilling gorilla trekking experience the next day.
Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest and Batwa Community Walk
After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off on your gorilla trek. Bwindi is home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The trek through the dense forest can take anywhere from 1 to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located. Once you locate the gorilla family, you’ll spend an hour observing them interact, feed, and play in their natural environment. The experience is both emotional and awe inspiring.
In the afternoon, take part in a Batwa community walk. The Batwa people are indigenous to the forest, and they will guide you through their cultural heritage. You’ll learn about their traditional way of life, including hunting, gathering, and living in harmony with the forest.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, you’ll begin your transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, a 4-5 hour drive. Lake Mburo is known for its beautiful landscape, which includes savannah, acacia woodlands, and wetland areas. The park is home to zebras, impalas, giraffes, and buffaloes, among other wildlife species.
Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy a late afternoon game drive to spot wildlife around the park’s lake. The evening is a great time for animal sightings as many species are more active during the cooler parts of the day.
Day 10: Transfer Back to Entebbe via the Equator
Start your day with a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park, where you can spot more wildlife and enjoy the serene atmosphere of the park. Afterward, begin your drive back to Entebbe, passing the Uganda Equator. Stop for a photo at this iconic landmark, where you can stand in two hemispheres at once.
