DAY 2: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience in Kibale Forest

Start your day with an early breakfast before heading to Kibale Forest National Park. Meet your guide and the research team who will provide an overview of chimpanzee behavior, safety protocols, and the goals of the habituation process.

Begin on a trek into the forest, accompanied by expert trackers. As you search for chimpanzee groups undergoing habituation, listen for their distinct calls and vocalizations. Once you locate a chimpanzee family, spend the day observing their social interactions, behaviors, and daily routines.

Enjoy a packed lunch amidst the forest before continuing your observations then after you will return to your lodge in the late afternoon, where you will be able to unwind a bit with a drink and share stories with fellow travelers. You will be served dinner at the lodge followed by leisure time to reflect on the day’s adventures.

Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi in the afternoon and check in. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the area or simply relaxing. Enjoy dinner at the lodge, featuring a mix of local and international dishes. Your guide will brief you on the upcoming gorilla habituation experience, detailing the objectives and guidelines.
