This 5 days Gorillas and Chimpanzee tracking safari will take you to Kibale national park for chimpanzee tracking, proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park through ishasha sector to see the amazing climbing lions, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for endangered mountain gorilla trekking and Lake Bunyonyi for canoeing and evening relaxation. Kibale national park is the best place for tracking chimpanzee in Uganda. Bwindi impenetrable national park is home to half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas. Lake Bunyonyi is regarded as the deepest lake in Uganda with many Islands. This tour starts and end in Kampala/Entebbe.

5 Days Uganda Gorillas and Chimpanzee Tracking Safari Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Uganda and Transfer to Kibale National Park
After an early breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee tracking, the journey is approximately 5 – 6 hours you will reach to Kibale national park in the afternoon. The journey takes you through Mityana and the Kyejonjo district, culminating in the vibrant town of Fort Portal, nestled at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountains.
After checking into your accommodation, you will visit Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a lush area rich in wildlife including various monkey species and birds. A donation of US $40 per person is encouraged to support the local community.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Begin your day with an early breakfast before heading to Kibale’s park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking. The trek through the forest, which lasts between two to three hours, offers a chance to see these fascinating primates in their natural environment.
After the trekking, we will drive you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its diverse wildlife. Enjoy lunch at your lodge before going for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel where you’ll see an array of wildlife, including buffaloes, hippos, and a variety of bird species. You will as well enjoy an evening game drive where you will be able to see lions, elephants, and other nocturnal wildlife.

- Activities: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale, boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, and evening game drive

Day 3: Visit Ishasha Sector for Tree Climbing Lions and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP
After breakfast, we will travel to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree climbing lions. This unique experience allows you to see lions resting among the branches of fig trees, a rare and captivating sight.
After the game drive, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the critically endangered mountain gorillas. Check in to your lodge and prepare for a community visit to the Batwa people, known for their rich cultural heritage and traditional dances.

Day 4: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
You will have an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking experience. An experienced trackers will lead you into the dense forest of bwindi to locate a mountain gorilla family. Once you have found one you will have an opportunity to spend one full hour observing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat, and also take as many photographs as you may wish. You will head back to the pack headquarters to collect your certificate as an award for completing gorilla trekking activity.
After tracking you will now drive to Lake Bunyonyi which is regarded as the deepest lake in Uganda for a canoe ride to explore the many Islands in the lake, then retire to your Lodge for Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Return to Entebbe for Departure
Depart from Lake Bunyonyi early in the morning with a packed breakfast and drive back to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight, you will have a stopover at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for photographs and lunch en-route.
