How can you reach Bunyonyi overland resort?

Bunyonyi Overland Resort is accessed by air or road transport as explained below;

If you are arriving using air transport, you have to fly directly from Entebbe International Airport to Kisoro airstrip. From here, your driver that has been waiting for you will transfer you to the lodge. you are advised to book your transfer in advance to avoid disappointments.

By road, the resort is accessible by private cars or public buses and is about an 8–9-hour drive from Kampala. The roads are generally in good condition and the scenic drive through the countryside is worth the journey. Each bus seat is 15 USD from Kampala to Kabale. From here you can board a motorcycle to take you to the lodge and it costs about 30 USD.

Activities at Bunyonyi overland resort

Golden monkey habituation

This activity is done in Mghinga gorilla national park that is 1-2 hours’ drive from the lodge. Each tracking permit costs 135 USD. These permits require advance booking especially in peak seasons because they are on high demand.

Canoeing

Lake Bunyonyi has calm waters which make it the perfect place for canoeing for both beginners and experienced paddlers. you can explore the lake at your own pace or explore with the assistance of guides.

Hiking and Nature Walks

Gorilla trekking can be done from two sectors that is Rushaga or Nkuringo sectors in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Each gorilla trekking permit costs 800USD per person per trek for non-foreign residents, 70 USD per person per trek for East African citizens and 700 USD per person per trek for foreign residents. A drive to Rushaga takes 15 minutes and 45 minutes to Nkuringo sector. Advance booking is advisable due to high demand especially during peak seasons.

Gorilla habituation in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Gorilla habituation takes 4 hours and it is only done in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Visitors are grouped into groups of 4 people who visit a semi-habituated gorilla group and make gorillas get used to human presence for normal future trekking. Each gorilla habituation permit costs 1500 USD per person per trek.
