Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Your exciting 4 Days Uganda Safari Tour begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or Entebbe International Airport. After meeting your professional safari guide, you will begin the scenic drive westwards to Kibale Forest National Park, the primate capital of East Africa.
The journey offers beautiful views of Uganda’s countryside. You will pass busy towns, green banana plantations, tea estates, and traditional villages where local people go about their daily lives. Along the way, your guide will share interesting information about Uganda’s culture, wildlife, and history.
You will stop for lunch in Fort Portal, one of Uganda’s most beautiful towns, surrounded by the Rwenzori Mountains. After lunch, continue to Kibale Forest, arriving in the afternoon.
If time allows, you may enjoy a relaxing nature walk around the lodge or simply admire the rich birdlife and monkeys found near the forest.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge while preparing for the exciting chimpanzee trekking adventure the following morning.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before driving to the Kibale Forest Visitor Centre for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. The guides will explain the rules for chimpanzee trekking and what to expect during the experience.
You will then enter the beautiful tropical rainforest in search of one of Africa’s most intelligent primates. Kibale Forest is home to more than 1,500 chimpanzees, making it the best place in Uganda for chimpanzee trekking. As you walk through the forest, you may also spot red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, colorful butterflies, and many bird species.
Once the chimpanzees are found, you will spend one unforgettable hour watching them feed, groom each other, play in the trees, and communicate through loud calls. This close encounter is one of Uganda’s greatest wildlife experiences.
After lunch, begin the scenic drive south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The drive passes through rolling hills, terraced farms, and beautiful rural landscapes before arriving at your lodge in the evening.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Today is the highlight of your Uganda Gorilla Safari. After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for registration and a detailed briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will be assigned a gorilla family and experienced guides will explain the trekking rules before entering the forest.
The gorilla trek can take between two and six hours depending on where the gorilla family is located. The walk may be challenging, but every step is rewarded when you finally meet these gentle giants in their natural habitat.
You will spend one magical hour observing the mountain gorillas as they feed, care for their young, rest, and interact with each other. Watching these endangered animals from only a few meters away is a truly life-changing experience.
After trekking, return to the starting point where you will receive your gorilla trekking certificate. Enjoy lunch before driving to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi, often called the “Place of Many Little Birds.” Surrounded by green hills and dotted with 29 islands, Lake Bunyonyi is one of Africa’s most scenic lakes. Relax at your lodge and enjoy spectacular sunset views over the lake.

Day 4: Canoe Ride on Lake Bunyonyi and Transfer to Kigali
After breakfast, enjoy a peaceful canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi, one of the deepest lakes in Africa. The calm waters make canoeing safe and enjoyable while offering excellent opportunities to admire the surrounding hills, islands, and local communities.
Your guide will share fascinating stories about the history of the lake and its islands, including Punishment Island, where ancient cultural traditions were once practiced. You may also see local fishermen, school children paddling traditional dugout canoes, and many colorful bird species that give the lake its famous name.
After the canoe ride, begin the drive to Kigali, Rwanda’s clean and vibrant capital city. The drive passes through beautiful mountain scenery before crossing the Uganda-Rwanda border.
